ABOUT DAN:

Originally from south London, Dan moved to Bracknell in 2017. He is a qualified mountaineer and expedition leader, and has led mountain and trekking expeditions in Africa, Iceland, Nepal and China as well as being part of a team that walked over 1000 miles across the Mongolia’s Gobi Desert in 2016. He works as a Director in a company specialising in running Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions for schools across the south of England. Dan is passionate about youth development and leadership, and strongly believes in protecting our education system from Tory cuts. His experience in running expeditions for schools has convinced him of the need for an education system that values problem-solving, decision-making and leadership skills and promotes aspiration as well as academic achievement, and allows young people the freedom to pursue the career of their choice.

DAN’S CAMPAIGNS / WORK:

WHY ARE YOU A LOCAL CAMPAIGNER?

“Our communities work best when local people are engaged in local politics and have a say in how their communities are run. The Conservative-run Bracknell Forest Council doesn’t listen to the concerns of residents and makes many of it’s decisions behind closed doors. The people of Bracknell deserve better, and Dan is part of the Bracknell team campaigning to put more Lib Dem local campaigners on to the council to provide proper opposition and make sure residents’ voices are heard.”

WHY ARE YOU A LIB DEM?

“The Liberal Democrats talk about creating and safeguarding a fair, free and open society where they balance the key values of liberty, equality and community. The Lib Dems have a strong record on local people having a say in how their communities are run, and these values resonate strongly with Dan. With the Tories and Labour increasingly heading for the extremes of political debate in the UK, Dan believes now more than ever we need a sensible, liberal voice at the centre of UK politics. This is why he’s a member of the Lib Dems.”
