Liberal Democrat Parish Councillor takes action on fly-tipping
Liberal Democrat Winkfield Parish Councillor Simon Banks has been taking action to tackle illegal fly-tipping in the local area.
After being alerted to dumped rubbish on Sandy Lane, Councillor Banks visited the site to investigate. He discovered that Bracknell Forest Council was unable to remove the waste because it had been left on private land rather than public land. Rather than leave it there, Councillor Banks cleared the rubbish himself.
Determined to help prevent further incidents, Councillor Banks also urged Bracknell Forest Council to install warning signs alongside an existing surveillance camera at the location. The Council agreed and has since erected the additional signage to deter future fly-tipping.
Fly-tipping remains a persistent problem across Bracknell Forest. Liberal Democrat Councillors continue to report incidents, work with the Council to improve enforcement, and take practical action to help keep local communities clean and safe.
