Supporting the Bracknell Forest Armed Forces Community
As an Armed Forces Veteran Lib Dem Chairman, Mike Forster, accompanied Councillor Georgia Pickering, the Armed Forces Champion, to receive the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award at the Museum of Army Aviation at Middle Wallop.
The award highlights the council’s long‑standing dedication to supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadet force adult volunteers and military families. It also reflects the borough’s continued efforts to ensure that those who serve, or have served, are treated fairly and not disadvantaged because of their service.
As a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, Bracknell Forest Council works closely with partners across the region to strengthen support for the armed forces community. This includes active involvement in the Bracknell Forest Civilian Military Partnership, which brings together UK Defence, local organisations and community groups to improve access to services, employment opportunities and community engagement.
As a supporter of the broader Armed Forces Community Mike Forster recently met a member of the wider Armed Forces family - Jack, who had a parent that served his country.
